One of Nikon's finest telephoto lense. The size is quite manageable for extensive hand holding.
Cosmetically it is in very good condition consider the age. Front glass has cleaning marks that impossible to photograph and have to search to find them. Rear glass is clean. It does have some dust particles. Of course won't affect IQ in any way. NO oil, fungus between the glass. Focus is still smooth, aperture clicks. Some paint wear on the barrel.
The hood is a sliding hood. Comes with rear, and a leather soft front cap.

You might want to remove the first image in your listing as it's a EDIF AIS version of the Nikkor 300mm f/2.8, and definitely not a 400mm f/3.5. It's confusing and might scare people off, even with your perfect 131 positive feedbacks. Kindest regards and good luck with the sale, patrick
Having had the pleasure of doing business with Tri, if he says the shots were from the 400/3.5 Nikkor, then as far as I'm concerned, that's where they are from. If reading EXIF data is important to you, do it. Until proven otherwise, I'll take the man's word. Amazing shot with the Nex 3. I can't even get that with a real Nikon body.
