got away for an overnighter friday, day started out good with clear skies, but couple hours later that came to an end and i was back to crappy lighting again for the rest of the trip
Brian I like that sort of natural photography, and I do appreciate the difficulty of it such as obtaining a shot of the bird clear of other branches etc. However, you have done it well, and in a consistently good series.
Larry, wasn't just waxwings, was THOUSANDS of waxwings lol, when i pulled into the parking lot at the park all i could see was a flying cloud, the trees were full of them and their song filled the air froze my fingers numb though

Thanks Peter, almost froze my hinny off gettin em lol, the wind coming off Lake Superior was to say the least frigid, the waxwings were having a blast playing in the wind but the topper was seeing some ducks swimming around but by that time i was too cold to get pics of them
Nice set Brian, besides the waxwings do you have IDs on these birds? Waxwings are amazing in their feather texture. I end up sharpening and sharpening trying to get detail, but their feathers are just so smooth.
Doug, the others are Pine Grosbeaks, the red being male and the other the female, with the lack of snow round here they seem to be feeding well on mountain ash berries, the berries that have fallen to the ground aren't buried under snow.....yet
