Does anyone know if the tripod collar for the 70-200/4L IS is the same as the one used for the non-IS version of this lens? Thanks.

I believe the barrels are the same between those two lenses, so yes, same collar.

The listed collar for the IS version is the 'A II W' and the one for the non-IS is 'A II B'�I have no idea if they are interchangeable but they are listed as separate collars on the Canon USA site.

They are the same, I had a tripod collar for the non IS wich I now use for the IS version.

I think I found my answer on the B&H website:

The Canon Tripod Mount Ring A-2 is the tripod collar for the EF 70-200mm f/4L (both IS and non-IS versions)

Apparently they are the same. I actually have the black version for the 200/2.8, but it works on my 70-200 non IS so it should work on the IS version as well. Thanks for the replies.

The A Tripod Ring Mount is the same. I have used the use the black one on all four of my compatible lenses (two 70-200/4 300/4, 400/5.6).

The "W" stands for white, and "B" is for black... other than the paint colour, those two collars are identical.
