I can`t try it out at the moment but I`ve just been looking through some of my old IR images taken on my (now sold) converted 20D and they are great. I sold the camera and had my 450D converted mainly for more res and also live view. The IQ and IR effect is better from the 20D. If I shoot in J peg with the 450D and use the second res setting which looks like it will be around half the size of the top j peg or raw setting do you think the IQ will look similar to the old 20D because I`ll be shooting at around the 20D res?
OK! better light and testing it would appear that the choice of lens plus the smaller image at 100% was making the converted 20D look a lot better than the converted 450D. Don`t get me wrong the 20D was/is a superb camera to have converted to IR but the live view and larger cropping area of the 450D doesn`t disappoint and I`m glad I had it converted.
