You may recall my posting images of a swan family with 9 signets. I watched them grow and they were incredibly well behaved. All 9 made it to be teenagers and in early autumn one of the signets flew into a construction fence and injured its wing. About a month later the family headed south leaving the injured signet behind. I wrote that I expected it had a decent chance of surviving the winter as Oakland Lake never freezes all the way over as it’s spring fed with 55f water. I was at Oakland Lake on Saturday and found this surprise:
What a happy ending! Youngin' gets left by its family, grows up and becomes king of the pond...only in America! And you get to be the royal photographer...perfect!
