Only the first is posed (my daughter's friend captured her with my camera), and remember, all portraits do not have to be of humans

The 70-200 f/2.8 II is my most-often-used people lens, with 2nd and 3rd being 135L and 50L...Versatility of the zoom, wide-open sharpness, and the incredible IQ make it a perfect portrait lens, and insure that I'm either mounting it or carrying it everywhere...it will be the only lens I'll use at my daughter's swim meet on Saturday.

Cloudy day? Some of us have to put up with this type of light for most of the year

We'd LIKE to have shadows with blue skies

Really doesn't matter. Just looking at portraits with those styles of lenses (short to long telephoto). Most portraits I've taken were taken at 50mm or less.

1st one was just after sunset and second was at 7am in the shade.
