Hi, I have been experimenting with painting the light into the photo using a torch. I quite like this image of some dry Rowan and would appreciate any comments and critiques! Helpful advice always welcome!
delicious. has an old -time painted look, maybe 1880 British or American look. certainly not an Van Gogh!
you could open it up a little here and there, but don't know that that would add to the appeal.

opening up - I mean selecting specific areas and making them just a small bit lighter. it would be an experiment just to see whether you like the changes. it is not meant to be a 'correction', just another way to look at the image, as there are many possible ways to view this image. have fun.

I like the picture, you did well with the painting, not much to improve.
Tried this with a old French projector some years back, now I try it out doors.
You did a nice job of high lighting the subject.
