jaehoppa,
I had my 85/1.4 Ai-S sold to gentleman in France. He checked the VAT and other taxes. While France may be different from UK, the cost increase to him approximated $220 when it was all said and done. OTOH, a photographer here on FM on the Nikon SLR MF board, Curtis Grindahl, has shipped a lens or two to a fellow photog in Holland and nary a tax showed up. So, best way I think would be to have your UK buyer inquire of the relevant taxing agency to find out what costs to him would be. I don't recall what shipping option Curtis used. Oh, and you have to fill out a USPS document with respect to the item your sending. You also might wander off to www.rangefinderforum.com and make an inquiry there because there are a lots of folks posting there from UK who i'm sure will know a helluva lot more than I do.
