I've tried this and have met with zero success. You did a good job with mixing two mediums (portrait and solar) which are not really complimentary in my opinion.
Reminds me of working with IR portraiture. Hard to get fight. I do like this. I think the more high contrast and shadowy the portrait, the better solar might look.

Thanks Tom. I think his white hair and strong features and the lighting made this one a good candidate for solarization. Not sure I have any other portraits that have worked with this effect either.

Thanks Tim. I agree. Its a tough combo. And not every subject does well with a more graphic stylizing.
