First version cropped looks more impressive for me as it shows more of the mountain. The wider one tends to guide the eye outside and beyond to the right side. It is also a bit too wide for my taste.

I agree that speaking in terms of traditional composition, the crop works much better. I am still hesitant because the no crop to me strengthens the sense of the natural symmetric "cathedral" that I found quite remarkable.
