Not an expert, not trying to be. But, i came across a very intersting item. It was a flash card in the psuedo size of a SD card, but had a USB 3.0 connector. I thought immediate, wow the ramifications for camera use could be very interesting. 1.5 gb/sec (possibly up to 4.8 Gbps by rating) would be awesome. What write/read speeds! Any one else come across these? It was only 2 GB, but made me think this is something I would like in my Canon camera. What are your thoughts?
Btw, the USB connector was not boxed, it had flat brass connector contacts like the SD
I've seen CF cards that break open to reveal a USB connector, thus eliminating the need for a card reader. I imagine there are similar SD cards even though this arrangement is not as useful in this case since every laptop has a built in SD/Memory Stick card reader now.
