Hi everyone!
I just got a brand new 85L from a member on FM.
But I encountered one problem with it...
When i shoot straight up (vertical), as it autofocuses to infinity.. I get a little screech/squeaking sound from it. Only happens when I shoot straight up.
What should I do with it? I do have warranty for it still but I don't like the fact that I have to send it in...
probably worth sending in. i just got one last night and was surprised how quite the lens focuses. from my understanding it is moving all over glass other than the rear element so there is potential that the motor is under a lot of stress.
oh, mine doesnt squeek.
My 85L started making squealing noises after coming back from Canon service. I had to make a little video which showed the squealing before they would acknowledge that it was real. The motor ended up getting replaced.
