We've had a cold spell in western Oregon the last week, including several inches of snow yesterday.
Not as cold as when I photographed the frozen falls, though.

1 and 3: the contrast in the upper third is a bit strong, I find it hard to make out details there. N� 2 is much more to my taste

Did you try getting any closer (read much closer) to the falls ?

Yeah, I know what you mean about the contrast, Santiago, especially with the first image.
Something about shooting black basalt in deep shadow in winter while facing south

Get closer to the falls? Well, in the first image the trail was sloped and had about two inches of black ice on top. I've dealt with black ice before. No thanks
