Am parting ways with my primo Nikon 200/2 VR1. Is in Mint shape, glass and mechanics perfect, no issues whatsoever.
I'm 2nd owner, CDN model, puchased new in 2008, serial number (had question earlier) is in the 301*** series
Might be a "where was that little mark?" usage blemish somewhere on barrel, but you'd have to search -- the entire kit (glass, case,e tc) is in exceptional shape.
Comes with
-----------------
1. All original accessories -- e.g. Nikon 200VR backpack, strap, stock lens-foot, lens hood, leatherette hood cover, box, caps, etc.
2. RRS replacement foot (optional)
3. 3rd party lens cover for when hood off lens or reversed (MUCH easier/faster to use than stock leatherette 'hoody')
4. The usual 200/2 VR 'Folgers' cover for lens hood. Hood on lens, pop this cover on and no dust, etc on front element. Pops off with flick of a finger.
Price is C$3750 w/o RRS foot ($3800 w/RRS foot) + buyer pays insured shipping by their preferred method and, if applicable, PP fees. Payment by PP, certified cheque or (if in Canada) EMT.
My postal code is B0N 1C0 and parcel would be roughly 6lbs w/ outer box at 19"x14"x16" for shipping estimate purposes at www.canadapost.ca
I won't bother mentioning the 200/2 VRs performance characteritsics. If you're looking for one you already know of it's legendary reputation for resolution, speed, bokeh and CA-control.
In short, if you happen to be thinking what Nikon glass might be ready to (easily) handle a 36MP sensor, this lens is on that list. The only lenses I've owned on par with it wide open would be the Leica 180/2 APO and the 1-stop slower Leica 180/2.8 APO.
However, 99% of my jobs are at shorter focal lengths, so as much as the 200VR is a true "Holy C**P!" lens every time I use it, the business part of me is telling the camera slut part of me to be more pragmatic - it's too nice a lens to be in storage vs. being used.
If you're Canadian, it's not often you see one of these for sale in-country 2nd hand (e.g. no tax bite), so drop me line if interested and before I change my mind - it's that good.
Would consider partial trade for a clean and clear CDN:
1. 70-200mm VRII
2. 14-24G
3. 60G
