Wondering if anyone has ever used this with a pro-series body and a heavy-ish lens? I'd liked to try one out and they have a rebate going on at B&H that ends today. I know you wouldn't want to rely on it for hours on end, but for safari for instance? Weight and size is a huge issue for me. Appreciate feedback on this. Thanks!
They are running good rebates, I have the 5561 after owning a few others. I think it will be my last mono, if you can why not just get one rated for your gear now. I paid over $300 for mine but it was my third as I was using lighter ones and they gave a year or so before they began showing the strain.
I don't have the Travel Monopod. But another Gitzo series 5 CF monopod. When it's a series 5 you won't have any problem with pro-series body and a heavy-ish lens. And you can use it for hours or days without any problem even with a 600 or 800 lens
