Shooting conditions were horrible. Snow, rain and no light... Raritan River area in NJ. Buddy of mine who is a fisherman was telling me of all the woodies in the area... What I thought was a muskrat ended up being my first NJ mink... While the shots are not great I was still excited to have spotted one.
Did very little post processing on these and my brain is a little skewed to the left ... should be cropping better I know. My job sometimes requires me to be up at strange hours any day of the week...

What shutter speed were you using & equipment? Have you been to Brigantine for bird photo? Rick
7D with a 500mm +1.4. Shutter was 60... it was very dark and rainy... I got lucky with what I got... usually have a beamer on there but was shooting from a blind and did not want to ruin my cover... everything was slow.... bad light...

The first is really nice with the water droplet. The mink looks a bit overexposed to me. The detail of the bubbles is nice on the last one.

I thought the rain on the back was cool as well.... thanks

I go to Brigantine a few times a year... I used to go a lot more often but kids happened....... Love to meet up one day if you like... I usually hang out with a few naturalists who have some access to some beautiful areas....
Those minks are cute and vicious! They sure like frogs
Wood Duck is stunning, #2 and #4 are ones to work with on the leveling to give the comp more impact of these beauties you got. Just an observation but the darks look a little 'pushed' up on the last one, that shot with a little more time when your 'brain' is up to it has even more PP potential
