p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · second flash, need answer

Hello

I need to put a second flash which can be remotely control via ST-E2 transmitter. Currently I use ST-E2 with 580EX II, I would like to ask what is the cheapest flash which can be remotely fired by ST-E2 together with 580EX II. ?

I just need some extra light from other side, but I'm looking for a cheap solution.

Thank You

You can find used 430ex or 420ex flashes for around $150. They're less versatile, slower to recycle, and somewhat lower in power than a 580, but are good value for use as a simple fill light.

I do not need a power as 580EX II produce, I just need a light fill from other side, I will take a look on 420ex and 430ex.

In addition to Canon-brand flashes, there are Canon-compatible flashes from other companies, such as Yongnuo and Vivitar.

A lot depends on just how little power will be enough for what you want to do. In addition to the Canon 430EX and 420EX there are also the 270EX II and 320EX, which can be had brand new for less than $150 (270EX II) and less than $240 (320EX). Both can be wireless slaves, and both can also act as remote triggers (limited) for camera release.
