West also!
I thought the ol, mississippi had plenty!
The weather has been so weird this year, maybe they are confused. Weve had one sighting at a local trail head, but thats par here in orange county, ca. We are lucky to see one!
Quite a bit north of you however it has been a light winter. All that is to change tonight, 6 to 12 inches of white stuff predicted. It is about time. Actually a little late but better late than,,,, I'll do my best to send it on down, some of it anyway.
Thanks for the info. Usually the board is flooded with L&D 14 picks by now. I know winter has been mild and was wondering what the eagle looks like. Last Saturday I spotted 20 eagles mostly across the Brussels ferry area.
I travel the Mississippi from the La Crosse/Winona area down to the Quad Cities and the eagles are really spread out right now. There's still an awful lot of open water here in the La Crosse area. This should change over the next few weeks as a good cold push will help freeze things up.
This should bring the numbers up a bit down river, but what's really needed is sub-zero (F) temperatures. So far, I'm not seeing anything bitterly cold in the forecast.
As long as the eagle's food supply is readily available to them, they're not going to get pushed south.
