I would rather see the USA results rather than Canada. Send them down to me and I will adopt them, establish their US citizenship, and test the hell out of them.
Probably Canon Japan's got a few.
It's all Jim Colwell's and Ralph Conway's fault......tonight they made me reach into my beer cooler more often than what I usually do.

So is the failure to complete the evaluations due to a lack of product to evaluate or is it due to too much beer?
Brian at TDP has just posted that Canon USA has told him that the 500mm II and 600mm II will be available in April. Not doubting Brian's source for this info, but it does seem a little odd that Canon Japan and USA indicated late in 2011 that an availabile date was not known/indefinite and now these lenses will be available in the USA in April.
Especially in consideration of the 1DX, because those shooting the 400 on APS-H will probably find 400 on FF a bit loose... Of course a 1.4x TC is the cheap solution, but what's the fun in that?

It has to ship before the London Olympics so April is as good a month as any for it to ship.
I am not so sure of that.
For example, Canon's apparent inability to supply the US retailers with 300/400 II today doesn't inspire confidence in 500/600 II availability early this year.

Maybe that's because they're restructuring those 300/400 "assembly lines" to produce 500 and 600? No, that's too big a stretch...and I haven't even got beer as an excuse.

I think it has more to do with actually shipping, even with very very limited quantities, the product announced. Being sold out is a far less a sin than not shipping at all before August.
