Is there another way of turning on the camera for starting and stopping the video other than pressing the set button?
When camera is on a video bracket it is very cumbersome.

I've wondered the same thing...it would be nice if the remote cable release would work somewhow...

You can use the Canon remotes RC1, RC6, RC5. See page 134 of your manual. For RC1 and RC6, set the timing switch to a 2 second delay.
