p.1 #1 · Can't copy and paste to Photoshop????????

Just back from Egypt and putting together a travel book. I add commentary based on Wikipedia and would like to copy and paste it into my images. I use CS5. I add a text layer and paste into it and the text shows up on the layer icon but does not appear on the image. I cannot figure out what is going wrong. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check the order in the layer stack. If the text is beneath anything else, you won't be able to see it.

Make sure the text layer is turned on and visible, and not hidden by an opaque layer on top of it.

Thanks but that is not it. I even turned off all the other layers and it would not show then either.

It is a white Background layer with photos and text layered onto the white Background layer. I have no problem typing text in, it just will not show when I paste it in. I also cannot get get a copy of images to show on my desktop w/o hitting refresh. I save an email copy of an image to my desktop and it will not appear until I click refresh. This is a new 64 bit PC.

Maybe you could post a "screenshot" of your layers to give us a clue at what your working with.

Is the text color set to black, or some non-background color?

Just another idea.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but try closing PS and reopen it. Sometimes there is an issue with the cacheing and restarting the app clears it.

Text color is black (I have done that wrong enough to check first thing!) and it has happened after restarting PS.
