From a recent road trip. Link to B&W version: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1070031

Edit: I wanted to get the whole sign in on the right but couldn't due to technical difficulties beyond my control.
Love it, I really liked the b&w version too. I remember going to a drive in with my dad when I was a kid, it was the last one in our area and it closed down when I was about 10. I still miss it, it was such a cool place...
ETA: I just looked it up, turns out they are still open! But only during the summer... I know where I'm taking my wife now . Thanks for posting this shot, I probably never would've known otherwise.
This is the only drive-in I know of, at least that I have seen in a long time. This one obviously is closed until summer. I have driven by at night, it's a real trip. Glad you like the photo.
I drive by there at night once in a while, brings back good memories of the Route 12 drive in back in Illinois when I was growing up.
There was a drive in sign forever in Nucla "Uranium Drive In." I had planned to photograph it for years. So when I finally decided to do it - it was gone. A lot of that history is disappearing. So when you see it, you need to shoot it.
Here's a list I found of supposedly still operating drive ins within Colorado. Don't know how accurate it is.
88, Commerce City, CO
Holiday Twin, Fort Collins, CO
Mesa, Pueblo, CO
Star, Monte Vista, CO
Star, Montrose, CO
Starlite, Sterling, CO
TruVu, Delta, CO
Comanche, Buena Vista, CO
DonH, ckcarr,
Thanks for your comments. I am not aware of one in Montrose, have not seen it. There was one in Paonia a few years ago but they tore it down but left the sign. I will have to get a shot of it.
