I got an idea to use a Canon 60D or Rebel T3i (600D) for doing some HD video.
The prices of used 60D are close to the new (body only) costs of the T3i. In fact, they are so close now that it is a wash (about $50 difference or $650 vs. $700).
Both have articulating LCD (desired).
Both are 1080P full HD.
The 60D is a bit larger form factor and has a few other differences (faster still shot frame rate of 5 vs. 3fps). Smaller and lighter weight is a plus for me, but not critical.
What I want to know is this:
What differences (if any) are there for use for easy and good HD video?
The Rebel T3i is less expensive (when comparing new prices, but a wash when considering purchase of a used 60D body) and a later model (newer). Does it have the "same" or "better" video features (such as focusing using live view, or audio, or other)?
I read somewhere that the T3i has "new digital zoom function" for video. ??
Elsewhere I read that the T3i has "sound recording level built-in and stereo sound meter." Not sure if that exists in the 60D. ??
I assume I would be later adding a Zoom H1 recorder for stereo sound recording to either camera body.
