In real life however....?
Being cold-blooded, the alligators spend a lot of time (during Florida's winters) on or near places where they can feel the sun's warmth. A boat ramp will do nicely .
In this case, there was a bigger guy already on the ramp .

Drive south, Timmy, and turn left.
Or fly to Orlando- see the Disney stuff, rent a car for a couple weeks, go to the Kennedy Space Center, then drive down the east coast, stopping at some of the wildlife refuges, skip Miami but spend 2-4 days at Everglades N.P., take Alligator Alley across to the west coast, head north, stopping at wildlife refuges (don't miss Ding Darling), continue back to Orlando.
