Hi Folks. I have had a busy year and not posted anything for a while. Recently I have been playing with HDR imaging in Photomatix. I will post some colour images as well, but I think the technique works quite well in Monochrome and the darkening around highlights, particularly in the sky is not so obvious. I have posted 4 images, 3 of which were just throwaways before I HDR'd them.
Not an HDR fan but I think these are quite nice and seem like excellent subjects to extract the detail, work the drama.
Third is my favorite. The bright areas among the stones add to the drama and mystery but are, perhaps, just a bit hot.
Last looks a tad overcooked along the tops of the trees.
These are nits, assuming you want this kind of feedback.
Overall, I think these are great!

Hmmm... most of us mess things up BEFORE we throw them away.
Considering your results, I may have to give your way a try.
The first is a standout for me. I love ruins.
I do like the processing in general, however, I have a question, did you have a graduated ND on? It's looking like that in the spires, and for me, this is taking away from the effect. If the spires could be lightened up to match the rest of the lower portions, I think it might improve them. I really love the detail in #2, with #3 a close second!
