Here are a few photos from the Lexington,KY regional of the sweet 16 volleyball tournament. Penn St vs UCLA and Kentucky vs Texas. I was not able to stay and cover the round of 8 held today between UCLA and Texas. This was the 2nd time ever shooting volleyball and the 1st time ever with kind of competition.

As anyone who has ever shot VB will attest, it's hard to shoot well and you've got some great shots. Love the elevation these women are getting! Also love the light you have to work with.
One of the things that always bothers me about most VB shots is the confusing back ground (spectators, Line refs, etc.) Your 6th shot is a thing of purity. (#1 is real sweet also.) At the high school level, one is either on the floor or you can try your hand at getting high up in the bleachers and shooting down on the action, though that is never anywhere to stand close to what you had in #6. Very nice.

Going into this I was kind of nervous as I had only shot 1 volleyball match at the high school level. When I told the person that I was shooting for, he said no worries and said you can handle it. I must say that I am very happy with my results. When I finally got to go thru all the photos I could tell an improvement from just the 1st game to the second. I have never really been into VB, but if I could shoot this level it might become one of my favorites.
