i am thinking of putting a Canon 45mm ts-e on a Nex using an adaptor. Has anyone tried this? or have any feeling about how this would work? thank you joanlvh

Should work fine, I can't see a reason not to.

No manual aperture control on the TS-E lenses, so you'd be shooting wide open only on a NEX. The FD TS 35/2.8 would be more practical.

You can set your f-stop on a canon body, then remove the lens while pressing DOF preview.
Or get an FD TS.

Yeah, it's not impossible to set the aperture, but hardly practical (you can't change the aperture if you're out shooting with the NEX and don't have an EOS body with you).

Why not just shoot it "natively"? What is it about the NEX, that you want to put a $1,300 T/S lens in front of it for?

It's a substantial lens in terms of heft, do be sure the NEX's tripod socket isn't flimsy.

Hi joanlvh,

I converted the FD 35mm T-S to EOS, and am waiting on a lens adapter to go from EOS to my NEX 5n. I can show you the TS with a G2 Panasonic, as I have an adapter for that one. It is a fun lens!

I really like your pictures, i will try hard to find the lens. I am curious as to why you first adapted it to EOS, i believe you can buy an adaptor that gets you from FD to Nex?? thanks for info, great pics joanlvh

Well,

My main cameras are EOS models, four digital and two film. It was all of about 6.5 hours of work to machine what I needed, and get the focus calibration at the true infinity point. I did a complete write-up of the conversion about this time last year. This lens was purchased by me in the early 70's, so I had some strong reasons for it to stay in my "toolbox". They run anywhere between $650-$1200 in eBay at this point.
