A few close-ups from our recent Costa Rica trip. I had a 300mm prime lens, so some of the larger birds wouldn't fit completely in the field of view when I was very close - so I made these into portrait-type shots.

Hi Richard,

Funny you have the same halos you pointed out in my goose photo. The first has wonderful detail, lacks shadows so it looks flat. The second is a bit dark, the last has perfect whites.
