For the body alone, it would not be. But this is a kit that also includes the 24-105 f/4L IS.

I'd say its excellent.
Go for it, unless you feel you have to see what the Mk III offers. Whenever that is.
The body alone is going in the $2400 range. I bought an immaculate used one for $2100 in August. The lens should be worth about $900 new, although list might be higher. The combo is my walkaround setup, used for 90% of my images and pairs well.

At the actual german prices this means the (additional) lens for about 350�/470$!
I payd 270$ more for the body only 2,5 years ago.

Are those prices including VAT? If not how much is that?

- there is no VAT free purchase in germany.

If I purchase that VAT free body from calumet, our goverment would add � 296,40 tax to it. There is no possibillity to purchase anything here or in any other country without paying taxes. That would make the body 1856,40. So it would be cheaper to order it here (about Euro 1750 right now).

Other point is there would be no support and guaranty for free, if not purchased here in germany as far as I know.

Curiously this has been the typical price in Canada for a month or two now. The body alone is $2000.
