I have an opportunity to pick up a used Gitzo 1320 tripod, and was searching for some more information on this model.
I have the following simple question: is this a Series 3 or Series 1 tripod? Using Gitzo's coding system (links below), this appear to be a 1 Series, but most every reference I found to it on the web indicates that it is a 3 Series (and it seems too large to be a 1 series). Is this due to it being a Mk2 version of the G320 model, and Gitzo used to use a 3 digit coding scheme?
That code is part of the old naming system but it is a 3-series aluminium. I used to have one but didn`t like it, no ALR, head mounting plate which was far too big, rubber caps on the spiked feet which were very difficult to remove, too big when collapsed and too heavy.
Thanks for the response. I did not realize that Gitzo had not yet introduced the anti-leg rotation feature at the time these were made (at least not on this model), so that will definitely be cumbersome.
