An Overview of the M System article.

A history of the Leica M system, from the M3 to the latest M9-P with a picture of each and some notes.

We'll continue to add to this of course, but I think it's off to a good start. Basically compiling information from all over the web and several books, etc.

A good read, revealed how little I knew about the cameras - I thought that M2 was the predecessor of the M3!

I might get the M2 one day, they seem to be the most affordable of leicas.

The M2 is a nice model. The only thing I don't like about it (personally) is the exposure counter.
