p.1 #1 · Refurb prices on D700 and D3s just went up.
Just checked the Nikon Store and the prices of most cameras have went up. The D700 jumped from 21xx to 2429. The D3s went from 42xx to 4679. D3x is up to 7199.

I was just about to make a topic about this...
Almost all of the refurbished lenses have gone up too! The 70-200 2.8 VRII went up to $2159 from $1919, and the 24mm 1.4 went from $1750 to $1979 Thats just what I remember I'm sure the other lenses have all gone up too...
They did add some new lenses to the refurbished list though, like the 500mm f/4 VR and the 85 1.4G...
I noticed the refurbished lens site was missing everything but the 1.7TC last night, and it's now back up, so they must have changed everything last night...

Where the hell have you been? The refurb prices at the Nikon store have always been way to high.
$2159 was a pretty dang attractive price IMHO.
I don't understand their D3 vs. D3s pricing, but whatever.
The D700 refurb price has pretty consistently been 80% of the list price. The new price sort of alludes to a $2999 price point for the D800 IMO, though I wouldn't be surprised with $3099 or even $3199 given the financial hit they've taken...
p.1 #10 · Refurb prices on D700 and D3s just went up.
It may be crazy but perhaps they're preparing us for the sticker shock we'll all experience when the D800 arrives on the scene in the distant future. I'm afraid prices go only one way over the long haul and that is up...

Nikon supply of cameras is pretty much at an all time low between the Japan and now Thailand disasters. Their equipment is pretty much "brochure wear" rather then hardware, so anyone that has anything in stock out in their retail/refurb channels is going to charge whatever they can get. One would presume that whatever production facilities they do have up and running are building the new stuff rather than any D700, D3s/x bodies.

If the d800 comes with 36mp and video it will be priced much higher $3000.00. Don't be surprised to see it over 4k. The d800 would better the D3x in everyway MP, video, equal or maybe better high ISO. The only real difference would be the lack of a grip.

Don't forget to add sales tax to that refurb body/lens!
Ah, but only in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, New York, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Washington!
Everywhere else they do not charge sales tax! I would have liked to pick up a 70-200 VRII for $1919 without tax and $10 shipping Oh well...
