So I was just wondering.. Should I trade my 24L II + $350 for a UU 85mm f/1.2L II or should I just go ahead and sell the 24 and buy a new 85L II... B&H also has it for significantly cheaper due to the Canon rebate.
I just want an opinion because I have no clue what I should do and which I would be better off with...
Wait for Samyang 24/1.4 next year ... and trade the 24L II with the Samyang plus buy Canon FD 85/1.2 L and convert it to EOS mount and use live-view to avoid hitting mirror
personally I dont see the 85L as a lens that you have to question whether you need it or not.
basically, every picture I see with one looks more or less the same. it's not a bad look, but it is a look. I think if you do weddings then it's almost a necessity because people expect it. maybe some studio portraiture is the same way. if you, for some reason, need that look then make a trade. if not then sell your 24L and buy a good normal/wide.
if the difference is just a few hundred, I'd buy it new.
on the flip side as long as your buying/selling at normal market prices, you should be able to resell it without a heavy loss.
I wonder if the samyang 24 will have any effect on the used 24L market.
