Anyone tried this version II lens ? Gonna put it on a 5D and a MarkIV. looking for some width on the MarkIII and MarkIV..Wondering if anyone has one and shed some insight on how it performs.
I've had the original version for maybe 5 years, and I can't ever foresee getting rid of it. Stopped down to f/8 or smaller it's very sharp on my 1Ds2, with very little distortion. Back then minty used ones could sometimes be had for <$400. It has it's quirks, though - I've got to hand-hold ND or GND filters in front of it, and it can show some wicked flare if the sun is in just the right spot.

Ageed, I have the original and you'd need to rip it from my cold dead hand. If the new version is an improvement than it will be a keeper for anyone that buys it. Me, I'll keep the original - maybe I got a good copy but it's one hell of a lens.
both original versions i had were mushy in the corners at any aperture and focal length. i didn't keep them long. that's the way it goes with Sigma lenses.
