Was down at Sandy Hook. No luck with birds... Saw this monarch acting funny... Did not realize what was going on until I had already snapped a few shots. Truly a formidable predator.
Pretty unique shot. Good detail in the mantis. Any chance to burn in the top of the mantis body just a bit--you might be able to find a bit more detail there. Good eye to find this one.

Thanks for the tip. I think it looks better now...
It is certainly a great capture...I find bugs eating bugs a little creepy though....must be all those horror movies I watched as a kid....way way before you were born Ari! I always though finding a praying mantis was good luck...but I guess not for the Monarch huh?
