Those little katy nymphs are beautiful! Great shot of it. The last is a superb looking spider! (Knobbly Crab?) Great pick up to even spot it, let alone come away with some great shots of it Lindsay!
Thanks Kenny, Anthony, Birdie and Phil for your generous comments - much appreciated.
I don't know. Here I was thinking that it was enough of a problem to photograph the critters and now people starting asking about ID's
I'm pretty sure that #1 is a nymph of the Spotted Katydid which has the appalling scientific name of Ephippitytha trigintiduoguttata
Anthony - after spending the odd few hours staring at Find-a-spider and Peter Chew's web-site before posting the image I reckon that you got it right and that it most probably is the Knobbly Crab Spider - Stephanopis altifrons
Lindsay
Thanks KC, km, Brian and Terrence - appreciated.
Terrence - When I was looking at it live I thought that it was facing the other direction and had no idea of what I was looking at !! I was surprised to find that it was a spider when I got it onto the computer.
