Looking at some of my older photos I decided it might be a good idea to see what other photographers subjectively consider high quality macro photography. I think of this as a little study to help us newbies figure out what makes a macro photograph successful.
With that in mind, please post in this thread three photos that you consider your "best" - no matter your reasons for selecting them.
Picking three can be a challenge, even for a macro neophyte with limited selection, such as myself. I'm going to cheat a bit and include shots that are more closeup than macro.
1. Meadowhawk: Found this one hanging out in my garden one morning.
2. Hanging Around: White bummed bee hanging around cleaning itself with tongue (at least that is what I think it was doing).
Mine really aren't that macro-y but they are still pretty close, the reason for this is that I have the Tamron 90mm macro lens without tubes.
What I consider my best three, keep in mind I have only been doing this for around 2-3 weeks (I think) I also haven't had very many encounters with bugs.
