Hi guys,

I received this modifier together with my AlienBees, but it is not from them, thats for sure. I can't figure out what light it is for. So I took some pictures and hope that someone here will recognize it.

looks like insert for ringlight/ringflash.

I know nothing of the Bees, but being black in the reflector area would get awfully hot in a soft box near modeling lamps. I suspect, just a guess that it mates with snoots. Curious if someone really knows.

It is part of the abr800 ringflash to use the moonunit.

Yep for the ABR800

Got it with my ringflash purpose, used it w/o moonunit for an interesting look when used with the reflector.

Light from the ringflash hits the reflective part of the modifier in your photo, then bounces back to the reflector on the ABR800 out to the subject

Not sure if it was intended to be used in this manner.

You guys are right, it is from ABR800 moon unit, now I can see that on paul c buff website.
