Hello everyone, Greetings from Kampala,Uganda ,East Africa.
I am in need of almost free, cheap, cosmetically poor but working digital cameras and other gear to use in this project that I started a while ago.
If you have a good point and shoot camera or a Dslr kit D40,D60, COOLPIX,D400,450,20D,30D,40D,POWERSHOT ,sony,pentax that you are willing to donate or sell for less ,I will be very grateful to know .Some cameras might be cosmetically poor or abused by your standard but here in Africa, you can’t imagine what they can do.I
It all started when I opened up a photo studio back in 2006 and because I needed people to work with ,I slowly started teaching or training youth with an intention of employing them in the end. I have been able to train 3 girls and 5 boys so far.
The person who taught me photography did not ask me for any money and I can remember disturbing him with my never ending questions. I am therefore planning to do the same to youth who didn’t get a chance to finish school. I was one of them but thank God for people on sites like Fredmiranda .com ;I have learnt a lot about photography from you people and now I am earning a living from photography.
Most of them have never held any type of camera before so I have lost a good number of gear due to improper handling. I would like to take this project to another level and train more young men and women to become better photographers, editors ,videographers e.t.c. This is not like a college or some thing but it is a one to one training project that I believe will succeed with the help of God and you my partners.
I am therefore asking you to kindly lend a helping hand by letting us have that camera that is gathering dust in the closet, that book, cd, dvd, strobe , backdrop, laptop or any other photographic material that can be useful in making us better photographers.
I will be paying shipping fees,insuarance, tax plus any other small amount that you will ask. Please feel free to help in any way possible and the Living God will bless you abundantly. I will be sharing more information,photos,e.t.c about the progress of the project with any one interested via PM or email or any other method you choose.

They aren't much but do function and are complete, as far as I know.
