Bought this D3x on Sept. 7, so I've had it less than five weeks. I'm now on my way back from the Africa trip for which I bought it, so it's now for sale again. I will not need the weathersealing or high resolution for the next couple of months, and it makes no sense to keep this gear idle.
Only 10,825 shutter clicks now. I bought it here on FM, from user rebornzx, in this thread (pictures available there too):
Price is $6000, including insured FedEx Ground shipping to the Lower 48.
I will also ship anywhere in the world if desired, with buyer responsible for actual shipping cost and all duties, tariffs, and/or Customs issues. Price does not include PayPal or other fees. Buyer gets my usual three-day satisfaction-guaranteed period, no questions asked. If returned, buyer pays return shipping (insured) and I will issue a full refund of the initial paument when I get the camera back in as-good-or-better condition.
I missed the fact you'd found your camera Rodolfo. Happy that worked out for you. I'm not quite certain what you're expecting would happen with a return if the camera came back in "better condition..." A new camera strap, a flash card, a lube and oil change?
Good luck finding a home for this fine camera. I'll look forward to seeing photos from your trip.
bump for a great camera and an even greater guy! love the cheetah shot rodolfo...whadda yah say you let me borrow the D3x when I go to afghan next spring?
Yup, just the one trip. But it was an Africa photo safari trip: only my second one so far, and spaced about four years apart. So I didn't want to leave any pixels behind... despite the fact that I could really have used the ISO of a D3s and the reach of a D7000, the only combination of high MP, CAM3500 AF, and weathersealing is the D3x.

Thanks!
Dreaming of going back. I was there 9 years ago with slides.
Did you do by yourself or in a group?
I am in an very early brainstorming stage.
Your guide is the critical element. Do what you will, but make sure you have great guides.
I've been to Victoria Falls, the Okavango Delta in Botswana, the Maasai Mara National Park in Kenya, the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, and the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania. The deserts of Namibia are still pending, along with Madagascar and oh-so-many other things. I still know very little about the place and can't be of a great deal of help in travel planning, but I'll be glad to share what I can whenever you want to have that conversation.

Thanks Rodolfo,
My next trip will be South Pole. So Serengeti still has to wait. I know Kenya and Tanzania well, only missed the Great Migration.
Do let me know what your planning and itinerary is like for South Pole. Hope to make an Antarctica trip in the next couple of years. And of course, show some pics when you get back!
