Hi all, long time lurker here first post in the B&S forum so please forgive me if i'm not following the proper protocol.
I'm selling a brand new Canon 70-200 F2.8L IS II USM. All original packaging, I opened it up just to take a few pics of it but the lens is still wrapped instead the lens case. I'm asking $2,199 shipped to the 48. Alaska/Hawaii will be extra for shipping.
Thanks!
Edit: I know I have no rep here but have flawless rep on eBay. If you're interested I would be open to selling through eBay but would need to work out something with the fees.
What happened to the receipt?
You say it's brand new, .....no receipt.......yet it's never been removed from it's wrap even for a simple inspection to insure it's not damaged and in perfect shape?
Well in order to explain it I would need to provide you with insight in to my personal life which I have no desire to. I understand with zero rep here this could look fishy which is why i've offered to sell it through eBay where I have plenty of feedback and you will get the protection of eBay and PayPal or your Credit Card.
Try to not always immediately assume the worse in people and maybe give people the benefit of the doubt until they give you reason to do otherwise.

A brand new lens should come with "Original Receipt" for future warranty purpose.
Otherwise, why would someone take the RISK of buying a high priced lens with NO WARRANTY while for $150 more you can have a BRAND NEW LENS WITH RECEIPT shipped to you free from B&H?
Without the receipt from AUTHORIZED US DEALER, the warranty is...like Russian Roulette.
I'm local and interested, but something is not right.

If I bought it I would have a receipt. If it was a gift I may not. No one should take any "risk" they aren't comfortable with. I don't think i'm forcing anyone to "take a risk". If you feel this is not right then please move on and don't buy it. But is all this really necessary?
I've offered to sell it through eBay to provide additional level of comfort and protection if someone is really interested but is nervous because I have no rep here. I'll eventually move this sale to eBay if it doesn't sell here but i'm hoping to offer a savings to someone and save a few bucks on fees myself by selling it here.
I get this is a good chunk of change and people may rightfully be nervous, instead of talking about how "suspect" this deal is, why not ask me for more information or ways I can provide you additional levels of comfort that there is nothing "suspect" about this deal and we can in turn not waste time trolling with all this negativity.

To the O.P. If you feel comfotable you may want to post a telephone number where you can be reached to discuss the deal. I know if I can speak with the seller I have more confidence the sale is geuuine. Just my 2 cents. Everyone has a 1st sale.

c52k, do you have your own photography website? If so, that should provide a sigh of relief for some anxious buyers. Anyway, I have no doubt that you're selling legitimately. And yes, please do not leave your number here. If people are interested, they will PM you for it.

I don't have a website and i'm not a professional photographer by any means. I'm a wannabe amateur for many many years but never had enough time to really dedicate to photography. I have some older lenses and computer gear that i'm listing that will hopefully sell and get me some rep

I was stupid enough to post my number here once and only once didn't like the prank calls. Not a good idea and should be done via PM.
Myself I would say get off his back if you don't like the fact he doesn't supply the invoice move on you don't have to buy it no?
