Arcatech Ultimate Ballhead (Upgraded). The ballhead has served me faithfully for years. When I acquired it I took an INSTANT dislike to the OEM Arcatech clamp. The rubber-coated clamping knob was annoying and the clamp was a little TOO quick release. The slightest loosening of it could allow the plate to release.
As a result, the stock clamp was replaced with metal knob, no bubble level, Kirk clamp which was in turn was drilled & tapped for a small 'safety stop' screw. The ballhead itself was not modified in anyway.
The Kirk clamp is more like an RRS clamp as it has a finer pitch and thus a more deliberate effort to release. The safety screw is simply used if the user wants the added precaution and can be removed or inserted w/o tools by the user in 2 sec flat. The ballhead has some notable finish wear around the neck, but it's purely cosmetic - all operates smoothly. A very nice & secure ballhead, with some beauty marks, for short $$.
Edit - Have dropped price to $175 net to me - what I consider my bottom limit to shift it. Baring that, I'll keep it as a spare. Price is CDN $175 net to me. Shipping by Canada Post, paymnet by PP, or if in Canada, EMT. Will sell, at lower price, w/o clamp if buyer wishes to use their own clamp
Items would consider in trade +/- $$
