p.1 #1 · Coe Wildflowers

Went to Henry Coe today to look for some wildflowers. Still didn't find that many, but found a few. I really liked the way the flowers to the left of the tree looked when using a shallow depth of field. Then I decided I liked the way the trunk looked too... and the branches... and before I knew it, I was stitching together six photos, and the original flowers are much less of a focus than I originally intended. Nonetheless, I still think I like the feel of the scene.

Thoughts?

This works really well, Matt. I think I might like it even better if the plane of focus extended back to the tree trunk and some (though not all) of the hanging moss. But I'd have to see it to be sure.

Thanks Dave! A bit too late for me to change that, but that's indeed an idea. Problem is, if the tree were totally in focus, then the bed of flower tips would also be, which is contrary to what I was (initially) going for.
