p.1 #1 · Elinchrom D-Lite 4 problem

My Elinchrom D-Lite 4 works fine for power settings of 4.5 to 6.0, but not for lower settings from 4.4 to 2.0. The controls seem to work fine at all power levels - the power LCD display flashes for a while after changing settings, and then the ready-to-fire light comes on, but the tube won't fire at power levels below 4.5. My flash meter shows the variation of output power from 4.5 to 6.0 is correct. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jim.

That's standard. Old flashes always stop working when the new ones come out. A new set of BXRi's should fix that.

Every time I have had this happen the capacitors smoked
in the not distant future.

This is a known problem. It is nothing that you can fix yourself. Your D-Lite has to go back to get fixed.

It does add excitement to a shoot when they go up with that loud bang
and the smoke comes out.
