Boston
One of the best parts of the Big Dig project.

C and C appreciated, esp thoughts about the processing.
Thx

Scott

Scott,

I like the processing very much - particularly the clouds; the blue tone sets a great mood.

If only someone would come up with a 'sign filter'

regards,

Bob

Very strong image. I'd be interested to see your starting image.
For me, at least, the image has a strong emotional charge similar to a well written and graphic scifi novel (Asimov comes to mind first).

the directional nature of the lines leading upward while accentuated by the signage saying "northward" creates a sense of intrigue. the diagonals not only serve to support the growth upward but adds additional tension by fanning out. This fan leads, my eye, toward the lighter area of the sky but conversely strengthens the focus of the main spire toward the light.

The light poles in the center of the image makes my eye halt at intervals on this upward journey, maybe to consider where i am going. echoing the right-angle turn on the sign suggesting that a familiar (not-so) Tobin Br is a mere 1/2 mile. to the left.

nice!

#1, 2 is good but not as striking. My monitor shows 2 a little too reddish for my eye. course i may just be stuck on "first seen"

I like first variation best. Nice composition.

In the first the sign being bluish does not work for me.

Crop on top ones is better - it focusses on the structure and makes suitable relative to being busy.

2 one best and good. Scott

Not at all!
Let's see what people think.
BTW, do you have a preference among the BW and toned images?

Bee,
No apologies.
Love to see how people interpret and play with these images.
Definitely got the rocket launch effect!

Be interesting to pair one of these with the right shot of a church/cathedral type structure, either modern or old.

My favorite bridge. A very nice shot (and PP). I only wish it were more symmetrical. I think if you could clone out the road signs (use the other side of the bridge and mirror it?) and get rid of the single lamp post in the foreground and center the main bridge elements it would be excellent.
