Youth sports in our area pretty much fizzle out at the end of the school year so we are lucky to have dirt track racing to fill the void and keep a little revenue coming in over the summer.
I really like # 2. Its great IMO as its not your standard shot. D700 or D3?
I wish we still had more dirt track racing in AZ. We have lost 2 tracks the past year or so. Manzanita was sold and we also lost a great track in Casa Grande called Central Arizona Raceway. Right now all the drivers are split between 2 tracks about 170 miles apart. 1 is IMCA and the other is UMP. Sucks for us dirt track racing fans...
These were shot with a 28-70 for the most part with some minor cropping. If you look closely at photo # 1 you can see a short concrete wall with a wire fence on top of it. The shots came from inside that wall. I found a gap between the concrete and the wire for this shot http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b79/snaptie2002/DSC_1294.jpg and used an elevated platform for most of the others. So I can get literally within a foot or so of the cars........Yeah sometimes I flinch
