Some very interesting shots here! I really like your #1 shot a lot. Great work on the B&W conversion on that one! My other favorite was the last one. What a cool shot with all of those footprints! Man, I have to go try that next time I am at the beach...
The last one works like an optical illusion. If you look at it and look away then look back at it sometimes it will appear to be inverted. The footsteps will look like they are projecting from the sand instead of indented into it.
Good work on the first one. A fine conversion and good sense of flow in the lines. I think you are right about the light. That said, the last one is a hoot - it's how I used to feel when arriving at work and finding way too much to do and not knowing where to start .

Gavin - Thanks for the notes. I def would like a nd8 filter but no funds...also in this situation I actually prefer the texture of the water for the shot.
Jim - the footprints shot was just serendipitious. I was leaving the cave (shots later) and the low light was making all the footprints pop in the semi soft sand. No idea how many people's feet are there!

Roger - i didnt find it very difficult at all...in fact i could have jogged it if i really wanted...and i know people do it barefoot...but then again people do the kalalau hike barefoot too
