p.1 #1 · Sold: SOLD**50mm 1.8 mkII ($50)

Here's the deal: I have a 50mm 1.8 mkII (plastic mount) for sale. I'm looking to get $50 total. That includes shipping, etc, to CONUS locations. Other locations will be entertained, but require more money.

Here's the full truth about it: I bought it used and broken. It is just the lens and the box, nothing else (it will be packed well though). Glass is fine and I can't find any issues there.
When I bought the lens, I knew it was broken and I thought I'd give a try at fixing it. I was successful. The issues were partly from the previous owner maybe mishandling the lens, then attempting to repair the lens. It was above the previous owner's level of skill (no offense meant, but judging by the solder glob on the one contact, this was not something he/she was used to doing). I undid the previous attempt and then fixed any loose connections as well as fixing the front retaining ring that continued to come apart.
The other broken item was a part of the AF/MF switch. Using the previous parts as a guide, I just crafted a new one tonight from some scrap sheet metal. It is also missing one screw that holds the contact bar in place. I glued that side instead (CA glue).
I trust this lens enough to put it on my only DSLR camera (my 40D), and I had no issues with the electronics (I tested those for shorts, etc before putting it all back together).
One final thing to note is that it had a moment where it wouldn't auto-focus through the whole range. I manually moved the lens a bit and now it works just fine. Switching between manual and auto works properly and the lens focuses just like the previous 50mm 1.8 that I owned (meaning that it isn't amazing, but it works as expected).

That may be more info than anyone wanted to know, but I wanted to be clear and honest with this lens. I'm selling it with the box, both caps, and the lens itself. Nothing more other than packaging material. I know that this is a working lens, but I won't guarantee it for life. I'll give a 24 hour test period, once you receive the lens, to let me know if you want to keep it. If not, I'll refund the money (less shipping costs).

I would personally trust this lens to take pictures and be decent at doing so. I just have no use and planned to fix/re-sell the lens from the start.

I will put up pictures tomorrow, but let me know if you are interested. Cosmetically, the lens looks like the rest. There is one small rub mark near and on the focusing ring, and some slight wear on the AF/MF switch. Other than that, it's in great shape. The box is in B shape. It's a box, it stands on it's own, it doesn't looks brand new but it doesn't look stepped on. The biggest thing I will make sure to do is take pictures WITH the lens, to show that it still works as it should. I'll take, and subsequently post, those tomorrow.

I accept paypal (but prefer instant transfer to avoid fees). I also accept other forms of payment, but they will need to clear before I ship the lens. Just ask if you aren't sure.

Pictures, as promised (some of the lens, some with the lens):
