Without a doubt Contax metal lens hoods are regarded as one of the finest lens hoods ever designed and are highly regarded by pros using Canon or Nikon systems who know. The Contax lens hood system uses standard filter threads and this kit for sale allows you to use these superb hoods with virtually any brand and focal length of lens with any camera system that you want. These hoods have been out of production for a few years now so finding even one hood is getting extremely difficult. Here you get most of the Contax hoods as well as attachment rings to use these amazing hoods with virtually any lens with front filter threads from 49mm to 86mm in diameter – wide angle to tele.
All the hoods are in Ex+++ to Mint condition as you can see from the pictures below. Included in this sale are:
One Ultra Wide Angle Hood No 2
(I used to have Hood No.1 and the 70/86 ring but I sold it with an 18mm Distagon)

One Hood No. 5
All of the hoods in the Contax system have an 86mm filter thread on their rear. So if you had a 86mm filter size lens you would just screw it in. Of course most lenses are not that large so you use lens rings which you screw onto your lens and then screw the appropriate hood into. Included here are:
Contax 72mm Ring
Two Contax 55mm Rings
And a large variety of step up rings that you use with the above Contax rings.
For use with the Contax 55mm Ring above I have the following rings:
52mm to 55mm ring
For use with the Contax 72mm Ring above I have the following rings
58mm ring

And one 77mm ring allowing you to use the Contax Hoods
eg. With my Tokina 17mm lens for example which has a 77mm filter diameter, I used this 77mm ring with Hood No. 3 and lens cap (see below)
And to cap it all of I have two deluxe 86mm pinch type lens caps that fit snugly on the front of all of the Contax lens hoods above (except for ultra wide hood No. 2 which is wider). This way you can walk around with your lens and lens hood fully protected and capped and don’t have to go to the hassle of unscrewing a lens hood to attach your lens cap.
