It's here . . . but now I need that NEX adapter!
Trying to decide whether to keep for the NEX or adapt for EOS. I have G 45/2 for the NEX and the Zeiss 50MP for the 5D3. I think it could fill a fun niche on both. Thoughts?
sweet! i say convert it unless you think you might use it on film. it's an awesome lens on both platforms and there are lots of eos to NEX adapters.

was thinking the same, I was going to convert all my MC's to EOS, but decided not to,
with the hope that a FF EVIL will arrive within the year and I won't need to.
The best thing about the MC PG is that you can change it to EOS and back with out causing any damage, same with the 58/1.4
The Rokkor 58/1.4 and 21/2.8 I picked up recently look to be nice and sharp.

I will likely make the Buchanan conversion but first, I'll test the lens with the NEX adapter that should arrive tomorrow. With the EOS conversion, I can use it either way.

Different character though... How are you adapting them? Can you operate the aperture?
Actually, MTF looks identical. There is a pic in the NEX with alt glass that shows adaption, but no, aperture can't be operated, so I need to choose one to go out with.

I had the 110/2 Hasselblad, and still own the Contax 80/2. I do prefer the Hasselblad's rendering, although both are interesting lenses. I think the Hasselblad has a sharper look (I don't know if this is reflected in the MTF).

My copy. But only wide open on technical matter. It had an awesome look, and stopped down a bit, like any decent Zeiss, it was very sharp. The 80/2 is also a bit soft wide open.

So I was watching this auction on the bay for a Minolta MD 135/2 out of curiosity, mostly. Now I'm curious to see if it was someone here who picked it up. Anyone willing to confess/claim bragging rights? I'd love to hear about the performance.

Me neither.

Winning bid: US $910.00 Well, it for sure wasn't me! Although I would have paid $75 to $100 for it. Wait... don't I have an MD 135/2.... Checks cabinet... :P
